Fatshark Dominator V3 FPV Goggles Review

Hi, are you looking for a Fatshark Dominator V3 FPV Goggles review? Welcome, then! I’ve always been fascinated by FPV goggles and FatShark makes some of the very best. There’s a huge demand for FPV goggles right now as the market for FPV drones has skyrocketed, because of the popularity of FPV racing.

Fatshark has a reputation for making the very best FPV goggles on the market, so you have every reason to expect the very best from a Fatshark product. I was impressed by the Fatshark Dominator V2, and was eager to find out how the Fatshark Dominator V3 fares in comparison, and have to say it does pretty well. Let me tell you why!

The Fatshark Dominator V3 Experience

The Fatshark Dominator V3 goggles come with a widescreen screen. When you wear them, it is as though you’re watching a movie in a multiplex. Now, the aspect ratio on the Dominator V3 is 16:9 officially, but I felt it was slightly lower than that – but it was good enough.

The picture is as close you will get to HD in an FPV goggle and considering the price you’re buying these goggles for, that’s more than what you could reasonably expect.

The Fatshark Dominator V3 comes with a tiny fan on the faceplate which ensures that the goggle never gets fogged. I found this to be a huge improvement over its predecessor.

Wearing the Fatshark Dominator V3 FPV goggles is like watching a smartphone display from one foot away. I felt the Fatshark Dominator V3 was easy on the eyes – it didn’t strain my eyes as I was wearing them.

Fatshark Dominator V3 FPV goggles come with IPD adjustment, which will be appreciated by those with wider set eyes such as myself. I thought the OSD (on-screen display) was very clear and precise, much better than I’ve seen on any other FPV drone.

The Fatshark Dominator V3 FPV Goggles Build Quality

I felt the Fatshark Dominator V3 FPV goggles were very lightweight and comfortable, even more so than the Fatshark Dominator V2. Actually, I felt the battery was heavier than the goggles itself, but that’s okay because the design is perfect so you don’t feel any discomfort whatsoever. I also liked the adjustable IPD sliders that come with the Dominator V3 FPV goggles.

The Fatshark Dominator V3 FPV Goggles Battery Life

I was quite impressed with the high capacity 1800 mAH battery that the Fatshark Dominator V3 FPV goggles come with. It gives you a lot of usage time per charge, which is what every FPV racer expects from an FPV goggle.

The Fatshark Dominator V3 FPV Goggles Compatibility

The Fatshark Dominator V3 FPV goggle is compatible with both the 2.4 GHz and 5.8GHz video frequencies and supports most of the popular quadcopters, including the DJI Phantom 3 and DJI Inspire 1.

Fatshark Dominator V3 FPV Goggles: Pros and Cons

  • Very comfortable to wear
  • Adjustable IPD sliders for wide set eyes
  • Quality screen
  • Compatible with both 2.4 GHz and 5.8GHz video frequencies
  • Comes with a fan that prevents fogging

Should You Buy Fatshark Dominator V3 FPV Goggles?

I did not realize what these goggles did before I read this article. Now I can see a use for them and your post was interesting and informative. Thank you for the information!

I know its a bit early for christmas, but I would love to have a set of these Fatsharks. I was thinking of just attaching a go pro to my drone but this would be so much better. Plus i am not risking losing my go pro.
    Great info.

Great review! So thorough and honest.

Sounds like the goggles may seem pricey, but are actually worth the investment if the quality and resolution are important to the user. I would rather pay more now for something of high quality than wish I had paid more later after being disappointed!

Your Pros & Cons say it all: These googles are worth it!

Thanks for the review, interpretation, and research! (Which I bet was really fun!)

You are such an expert when it comes to drones Emanuel. I just wish I had the time to pursue this hobby and make full use of your excellent site! This is a great review and personally, I think the price is not too high – as long as the quality is good! How long can such goggles last with regular use?

Hi Shaz, I´m glad that you liked my article.

I also think the same way, I’d rather pay a little more for something with quality, than pay less for an item with less quality.
      Because sometimes cheap becomes expensive.

It’s a good question. In my opinion if you are careful when handling the equipment and treat it with care, it will last you a long time due to its high quality materials.

Since you have the battery charged, you can use it at will.

      Thanks for your comment.
