Spektrum Teleporter V4 Video Headset Review

Hi guys! I bought the Spektrum Teleporter V4 Video Headset recently and I was surprised to find out that there were no Spektrum Teleporter V4 Video Headset Reviews online. So, I decided to do the honors and write a Spektrum Teleporter V4 Video Headset review myself.

The Spektrum Teleporter V4 Video Headset has been developed by Fat Shark, one of the top makers of drone FPV goggles. FPV stands for First Person View, of course. The Spektrum Teleporter V4 Video Headset is compatible with all FPV goggles made by Fat Shark, such as Predator V2 and Dominator V3 – both of which I’ve reviewed on this blog.

What makes the Spektrum Teleporter V4 Video Headset so special is a feature called Digital Head Tracking. Digital Head Tracking is one of the coolest features available with FPV goggles and video headsets. What happens is, every time you look down, or look up, your FPV video headset or goggle sends a signal to the FPV quadcopter.

So with nothing more than just your head movements, you can tilt the drone, and make it pan in the direction you want or change your field of view as you like.

This is hard to explain, but let me put in a really simple way – because of head tracking, when you wear an FPV goggle or a video headset such as the Spektrum Teleporter V4, when you look up, the drone looks up, when you look down, the drone looks down; when you tilt your head to the left, the drone pans to the left and when you tilt to the right, the drone pans to the right.

You do this on the ground, and the drone does it 100-250 feet above, giving you a bird’s eye view of everything – trees, buildings, people, the sky and the clouds. It’s an incredible feeling of being one with the environment, which has to be felt to be believed.

The Spektrum Teleporter V4 Video Headset allows you to have all the fun in the world but without hassles of any sort. It is easy to setup and can be operated by anyone, even by kids – although I would advise having a guardian close by when a child uses this equipment.

To get the most of the Spektrum Teleporter V4 Video Headset it should be bought along with the Spektrum Ultra- Micro FPV system.

Let’s look at some of the Spektrum Teleporter V4 Video Headset features

  • The Spektrum Teleporter V4 gives you a picture resolution of QVGA or 320 x 240 pixels on a very clear and lucid LCD display.
  • It is compatible with a 5.8GHz wireless receiver.
  • The Spektrum Teleporter V4 comes fitted with a Spironet RHCP antenna.
  • It comes with a Digital head tracking which we have already talked about.
  • The Spektrum Teleporter V4 video set offers trainer link head tracking for gimbal-controlled cameras.

Finally, let’s talk about the price. The Spektrum Teleporter V4 Video Headset costs $199.99, which is a great price for it. I loved playing with this video headset and it did give me several exciting moments. I recommend it highly.

Hey, Nice site. I’m intrigued by the emergence of personal drones.

Do you find it hard to use them? I remember having a helicopter and I crashed and burned that thing the first day. These things are expensive so I don’t know if it is for me as I can’t afford to break a $1200 drone.

Do you recommend a cheaper one to start with?

Thanks for the info on drones. I’m going to dig around a bit more.

Hi Timothy, I´m glad that you liked my post.

Today there is already drones for everyone.

If you are a beginner, you do not need to have a very expensive drone to start practicing.Today, my personal choice to start flying a drone, goes to the Dji Phantom 3 Stantard.(Considered the best drone to learn to fly)

If you want an idea of what drone to choose, see this post, surely will help you.

      Thanks for your comment!
