Syma X8SW Review
Hey there! Welcome to this Syma X8SW review. This popular quadcopter, which is really a toy drone, costs $99.99. This is a very good price indeed. Let’s find out more!
What is it?
SymaToys is a company that mostly makes toy drones. The Syma X8 series is a more sophisticated toy drone version of their other popular product line, the Syma X5 series, which is essentially meant for first time flyers.
I can tell you that I have been pretty impressed with both Syma X8 and Syma X5. But it is the Syma X8SW that has really caught my fancy recently. This toy drone comes with a functional camera, is pretty stable in air and can be controlled with ease with the remote control that comes with it.
Who is it for?
The Syma X8SW is for children in the age group of 12 to 18. It can also be used by adults who are new to flying drones. It is really a fun toy drone for all age groups – but not for those who are experienced drone pilots. This is basically something to have fun with.
How it helped?
I have always been a big fan of the Syma quadcopters. I love the fact that they have a very good design and build quality despite their small size. It is the same with Syma X8SW. This drone was a pleasure to fly, indoors as well as outdoors, but particularly indoors. It is also reasonably safe and you don’t have to worry about it crashing on someone walking by.
Syma X8SW Features
Remote controller – This drone comes with a completely revamped remote controller which consists of two control sticks, a front panel and a power switch. The remote control allows you to do neat little things with this drone such as a 360 degree flip.
Camera – This drone comes with a first person view (FPV) camera with Wi-Fi connectivity, which is great. The camera is not what you get from a professional drone such as DJI Inspire 2, but I can tell you that it is perfect for a toy drone. It comes with a 4GB memory card and records videos easily. The image quality is decent enough but there is only so much you can expect with a toy drone camera.
Performance – I have to tell you that this little drone is capable of doing amazing things in flight and can truly surprise you. It flies fast, but is stable in air. I had no trouble controlling it. The Take Off and Land aspect of the flying is automated, so even a child could fly this drone, really.
Syma X8SW Pros and Cons
- Love the first person view Wi-Fi camera
- Remote control is very good.
- Stable in air and easy to control.
- Takes off and lands automatically.
- You cannot control it with an app
- The battery replacement is not easily available
- The props can break off if there was to be a crash
- Makes a lot of noise
Why I recommend it?
I sort of like the Syma X8SW because of its minimalist design, stability in air, ease of control and awesome lifting power. Yeah, that and the fact that it is priced at under $100. The only negative is the camera, which is not the best you will get.
I wish you all the best, and remember that if you have any questions or comments you can post them in the comments section at the bottom of any blog post. It’s great to hear from you.
