The Cheerson CX 20 Review – What to Expect?
Cheerson is a relatively new entrant into the consumer drones business and has so far struggled to really get going. This hasn’t really been because of any inferiority as such, as far as the products are concerned, but more to do with not spending much on marketing and advertising. Here, in the Cheerson CX 20 review, we take a look at their flagship product and tell you if it is really worth your money or not.
Here’s what you get with the box…
The quadcopter itself, the battery and a charger. With the Cheerson CX 20 Auto Pathfinder, you get a remote control, propellers, aircraft and camera support, and a user manual. The drone is basically ready to fly as soon as you pick up from the box
The Cheerson CX 20 Review – The Battery Life
You get a flight time of 15 minutes with Cheerson CX-20 Auto Pathfinder. It requires a 2-hour charging time. The 2700mAh 20 C 3C battery is rechargeable and the flight time may be compared with other popular drones such as the DJI Phantom 2 Vision+. It’s not the best battery life you’ll ever get, but not bad at all.
The Cheerson CX 20 Review – The Design
The Cheerson CX-20 design is quite good – it is compact, very-integrated and you can carry it in a backpack. It is quite similar in design to the very popular DJI Phantom. It has a very sleek look that is guaranteed to get you a lot of attention from onlookers.
The Cheerson CX 20 Review – The Cameras
The Cheerson CX 20 Auto Pathfinder does not come with a built-in camera, but it comes with an external removable mount which is handy for light and handy cameras. GoPro cameras are usually used with CX 20 and they offer excellent HD quality drone photography..
The Cheerson CX 20 Review – The Navigation
The Cheerson CX 20 Auto Pathfinder has one of the simplest and the most intuitive navigation. But it would certainly help to have a prior experience of flying drones. Beginners may find it hard to navigate the CX-20, and but with a little practice they can pick up the relevant skills.
We like Cheerson’s integrated flight dynamics system, known as the MX + GPS multi-rotor autopilot system, which makes navigating it so much easier. Most of the flight parameters and functions are pre-programmed, which means the Cheerson CX 20 is basically ready to fly as soon as you remove it from the box.
The Cheerson CX 20 Review – The Controls
We really appreciated how stable the whole unit is when in the air. The CX 20 can go up to a maximum speed of 10 miles/second and can climb at 6 miles/second. It gives you the right mix between speed – which is quite moderate, and stability – which is rock solid. The flight range of 1.5 km is wider than most other models in this category.
The Cheerson CX 20 Auto Pathfinder has two flight control modes: GPS Altitude and Altitude Control mode, you can very easily switch between the two depending on which of the two modes suits you best.
We like the Intelligent Orientation Control (IOC) function, which ensures that you don’t lose control when the drone is in the air. This option makes it easy for you to control the Cheerson CX 20 even when it goes into a spin suddenly and bring it back to home base.
The MX autopilot is another great feature which comes into the picture when both the controller and transmitter go out of range. It consists of a one-press Return-to-Home function helps to avoid crashes during landing.
Should you buy the Cheerson CX 20 Auto Pathfinder?
Well, apart from the fact that the Cheerson CX 20 Auto Pathfinder comes with almost all features you would reasonably expect from a consumer drone, and is highly reliable and stable in air, it is also very affordable – costs just $300. This is a great price for it, and guarantees that you get full value for your money. Yes, we certainly think that the Cheerson CX 20 Auto Pathfinder is worth a purchase.
