The DJI Inspire 2 Review
If you’re reading the DJI Inspire 2 review on this website, I can tell you are in two minds about buying this quadcopter. On the one hand, you are impressed with its features, functionality, design, performance and the amazing drone photography, and on the other you wonder if the price of $5,889.00 is worth it. Well, let’s find out!
What is it?
DJI Inspire, the predecessor of this drone was one of the best drones out there when it was released a few years ago. DJI Inspire 2 is an improved version of that model, which is even better and even more spectacular. This drone has many more safety features such as obstacle avoidance and object tracking and better battery life.
Who is it for?
DJI Inspire 2 is not for the beginner or for the hobbyist drone flyer. It costs too much for that. It is meant specifically for professionals. It is meant for the sort of people who carry out professional aerial cinematography, photography or videography. It is for photo journalists or documentary filmmakers who need to get special aerial shots of an area or of the crowds beneath. It is also used by advertisers and marketers for real estate photography – to take attractive shots of a prime property that is up for sale.
How it helped?
As I said, this drone costs just under $6,000 and is an expensive drone. I had to pull some strings to be able to fly this quadcopter for the purpose of the DJI Inspire 2 review. But I can tell you I enjoyed flying it immensely. It is a large drone and a very professional look and feel to it. When you know you are flying a machine that costs $6,000, you are doubly careful. But really, this drone was quite easy to fly despite its large size.
DJI Inspire 2 Features
Design and Build Quality – The Inspire 2 is quite large and heavy and has a robust build quality. It is made from the ultra strong magnesium-aluminum alloy. It has a very attractive look and feel to it.
Performance – I can’t think of a drone that is more stable in air than this one. DJI Inspire 2 is very reliable, fast and nimble and absolutely safe to fly. It gives you a top speed of 58 miles per hour. This is very much the BMW of quadcopters.
Safety – This drone comes with features such as dual sensors for obstacle avoidance and infrared sensors on top that ensure that you don’t end up crashing the drone.
Flight Time – This drone gives you an excellent flight time of 27 minutes.
Controls – The controls used in Inspire 2 are the same as those used in the famous DJI Phantom series of drones. The remote controller features an integrated tablet.
Camera – The DJI Inspire 2 camera is the absolute best you will get with any quadcopter. This drone comes with the Zenmuse X4S and X5S cameras. X4S is a 1-inch 20MP sensor and comes with an f2.8 24mm lens plus a mechanical shutter. X5S comes with a 20MP micro four-thirds sensor.
DJI Inspire 2 Pros and Cons
- Comes with an independent FPV camera
- Excellent stability in air
- Features smart flight modes
- Takes great images and shoots awesome videos
- The absolute best quadcopter that money can buy
- Price is a bit too high
Why I recommend it?
The DJI Inspire 2 is without question the most impressive drone I have flown this year. I can’t think of another quadcopter that offers drone photography of this amazing quality.
While this drone is certainly not cheap, I would say that if you are someone who does a lot of professional aerial drone photography whether for marketing, filmmaking or journalism, this is the drone you should be buying.
I wish you all the best, and remember that if you have any questions or comments you can post them in the comments section at the bottom of any blog post. It’s great to hear from you.
