The DJI Phantom 4 Review
I don’t have to tell you about DJI – it is the leading manufacturer of consumer drones. No other company, not even Parrot, or for that matter 3D Robotics, comes anywhere close to the position achieved by DJI in the consumer drone industry. In this DJI Phantom 4 Review, I will talk about a new drone from the company that is an upgraded version of the popular DJI Phantom 3 and Phantom 2.
The big difference between the Phantom 4 and its predecessors is the vast improvement in flight time and control range, which I will discuss later. It also comes with new features such as the sense and avoid systems. Otherwise, there is not much of a difference between Phantom 4 and Phantom 3. Let’s discuss some of the features of this new upgraded version of DJI Phantom.
DJI Phantom 4 Design
The Phantom 4 consists of a quadrangular design with 4 pairs of propellers and landing stands. I find this design to be aesthetically pleasing, and yet very practical. It is flexible and quickly adapts to any changes in direction. The landing stands not only allow you to land the drone safely, but offer stability in the air.
DJI Phantom 4 Flight Modes
The Phantom 4 consists of multiple flight modes such as the sports mode and the tap-to-fly mode. The tap-to-fly mode is just like the autopilot mode on an airplane and basically means that the drone flies by itself. The sports mode makes you work hard to control the drone and gives you a real drone flying experience. I strongly suggest using the sports mode only when flying the Phantom 4.
DJI Phantom 4 Camera
The Phantom 4 consists of a 720p HD Camera which takes great pictures and records world class images that are then streamed live to the controller. The DJI camera has several excellent uses. It can be used for aerial surveillance, nature watching, recording the traffic below or getting a fantastic view of the sunset.
DJI Phantom 4 Controller
The Phantom 4 consists of a remote controller with an LCD screen that allows you to control the drone and navigate its flight. The controller receives live video streaming from the drone camera and displays them on the LCD screen. You can change the flight modes by simply pressing a button on the controller. It is as easy as it gets and gives you amazing flight experience.
DJI Phantom 4 – Other Interesting Features
The DJI Phantom 4 consists of other interesting features such as an obstacle sensor that identifies obstacles in its path and an automated system that ensures that the drone is navigated away from the obstacles. This feature only works when the drone is on its tap-on-fly mode. The Phantom 4 is equipped with GPS technology as well, which allows it to be used for surveillance work or anything that involves tracking a particular object.
DJI Phantom 4 – Flight Time
The Phantom 4 gives you a very impressive flight time of 28 minutes on a single recharge. This is one of the best flight times you will get for a consumer drone.
DJI Phantom 4 – Control Range
The Phantom 4 has an incredible control range of 5 km. This means you can use this drone to get high quality live feed from areas that have suffered from a natural disaster or war. That’s why the DJI Phantom 4 is favored by journalists.
The DJI Phantom 4 Review – Final Thoughts
The DJI Phantom 4 is the King of Drones. It has all the features you would expect from a consumer drone and more. It gives you an amazing flight time and incredible control range. You can use it for a wide variety of purposes, for journalist, film shooting, research and more. What’s more, the Phantom 4 costs $1,199, which is actually a decent price considering its high quality. It is my favorite drone of 2016 so far.
I wish you all the best, and remember that if you have any questions or comments you can post them in the comments section at the bottom of any blog post. It’s great to hear from you.
