The DJI Spark Review
If you’re reading the DJI Spark review, you’ve already come across this popular quadcopter, one of the smallest from the DJI product-line and want to know more about it. Well, that’s where I come in. So let’s find out everything you need to know about the DJI Spark.
What is it?
DJI Spark is a really small drone from DJI, which is very light and can be controlled through hand gestures. That’s pretty amazing, isn’t it? Of course, you will still need a controller to fly the drone, but you can control the basic movements with nothing more than hand gestures. This makes this a really special quadcopter indeed.
Who is it for?
DJI Spark is the most affordable drone from DJI, a company that is known to make high end quadcopters. It costs only $499 – this is the right price range for beginner fliers and for those with intermediate flying skills. So if you’re still learning to fly drones, this quadcopter is for you. It also makes for a great gift for children in the age group of 11 to 17 years. They will enjoy flying this quadcopter.
How it helped?
I love how small DJI Spark is, and how it was able to recognize my hand gestures. It was almost like out of Star Wars! What I also liked was that this drone was surprisingly stable in the air, despite its miniature size.
DJI Spark Features
Design – DJI Spark is of the size 143 x 143 x 55mm and weights only 10.6 ounces. It can easily fit into any bag. It is of the same size as a headphone case. It comes in the following colors: Alpine White, Meadow Green, Sky Blue, Sunrise Yellow and Lava Red and is quite attractive to look at.
Build Quality – The Spark may be small, but it is very compact and has a solid body. Even its limbs are very strong. There are no seams along the drone’s body and its entire fuselage is molded from just one integrated piece of plastic.
Performance – This drone does very well from the performance point of view. It is quite stable in air and has a reasonable range. You can make it take off from the palm of your hand. You can control its flying with your hand gestures.
While the PalmControl feature of this drone is very intuitive, it can get little messed up if you want the quadcopter to do something more than the basic navigation commands.
Image Quality – The image quality of this drone is one of its highlights. The pictures are very sharp and the video shooting is at 4k and the videos appear reasonably smooth and stable.
DJI Spark Pros and Cons
– Great build quality, small and light
– Smart flight modes
– Easy to fly
– Shoots great pictures
– PalmControl feature is still not too well developed
– Battery life is on the lower side
Why I recommend it?
I’m quite impressed with DJI Spark. It is the smallest drone from DJI, even smaller than DJI Mavic, but comes with many new innovative features such as the ability to control the drone’s movements with your hand gestures. The drone also comes with smart features such as obstacle avoidance and object tracking which are good from the safety point of view. Highly recommended!
I wish you all the best, and remember that if you have any questions or comments you can post them in the comments section at the bottom of any blog post. It’s great to hear from you.
