The Walkera Furious 320 Review
If you are into drone racing, you will have no doubt heard of the Walkera. Walkera makes some of the best drones for FPV racing. I have reviewed Walkera Runner 250 [here]. It was one of the best FPV racing drones that I have tried and I had several wonderful hours with it.
In this Walkera Furious 320 review, I am going to talk about a new drone from Walkera, which has caught the eye of many in the FPV racing community. The Walkera Furious 320 flies at 120 km per hour, which is pretty fast.
It has its own motors, which makes it unique. In fact, this is Walkera’s very first tilt-motor racer. I’m going to explain in detail what that means. Read on!
What are Tilt Motors?
The Walkera Furious 320 consists of tilt motors or four brushless articulated motors. What that means is that the motors rotate forward as you push the quadcopter harder. So this quadcopter is more stable in air and steadier than other drones and is upright instead of leaning at 45 degrees. This allows the Furious 320 to race forward faster. There is nothing to slow it down, no drag whatsoever.
The Walkera Furious 320 Body
The Furious 320 is made from one of the toughest materials that you are going to get, carbon fibre. Some parts of the drone are made from plastic. The drone is capable of withstanding some really hard knocks and falls. Yes, as an FPV racing drone, you would expect Furious 320 to be very strongly built and capable of withstanding crashes. So you will not be disappointed at all. This drone is also a bit heavier than other FPV drones because of its heavy 4S 2600mah battery.
The Furious 320 works perfectly well with the Devo 7 and 10 radio controller – these are a couple of Walkera transmitter that also works with Walkera Runner 250. They may be old, but are pretty powerful. The device operates in a frequency of 2.4 Ghz and uses an ARM micro computer system.
LED Lights for Night Flying
The Furious 320 consists of energy efficient LED lights which are used to warn other drone pilots about a change in direction. These lights help the pilot avoid collisions with other drone, especially when flying in dim light. They make night flying a reality.
The Furious 320 is armed with a highly sophisticated GPS technology that records the return point and tells you just how much flight time is left based on the distance and height reached by it. When the battery is low, the device points towards the home base and prompts the pilot to bring it home. This way you will never run out of flight time in the middle of the flight.
The Walkera Furious 320 is armed with a most sophisticated camera that shoots pictures at 12 MP and takes high quality videos of 1080 pixels. The Furious 320 is capable of recording flight footage at the same time as it transmits live video at 60 frames per second. This makes it so different from the other FPV drones in the market, as you will know very well if you have experience of FPV drone racing.
I never quite liked the idea of attaching an extra camera to some of these other FPV drones to record the flight as the inbuilt cameras that they came with didn’t have dual functionality. I am very impressed with the Walkera Furious 320 camera and I have every reason to believe that it is one of the best that I’ve seen on an FPV drone.
I hope you enjoyed this Walkera Furious 320 review. The Furious 320 is a high performance quadcopter and one of the best FPV racing drones around and it is not cheap. It costs $705.99. However, it gives you an amazing speed of 120 km per hour, and has an excellent camera with dual functionality. The tilt motors give it excellent stability in the air as well. For these reasons, I am pretty impressed with this quadcopter.
I wish you all the best, and remember that if you have any questions or comments you can post them in the comments section at the bottom of any blog post. It’s great to hear from you.
