The Walkera Furious 320 Review

If you are into drone racing, you will have no doubt heard of the Walkera. Walkera makes some of the best drones for FPV racing. I have reviewed Walkera Runner 250 [here]. It was one of the best FPV racing drones that I have tried and I had several wonderful hours with it.

In this Walkera Furious 320 review, I am going to talk about a new drone from Walkera, which has caught the eye of many in the FPV racing community. The Walkera Furious 320 flies at 120 km per hour, which is pretty fast.

It has its own motors, which makes it unique. In fact, this is Walkera’s very first tilt-motor racer. I’m going to explain in detail what that means. Read on!

What are Tilt Motors?

The Walkera Furious 320 consists of tilt motors or four brushless articulated motors.  What that means is that the motors rotate forward as you push the quadcopter harder. So this quadcopter is more stable in air and steadier than other drones and is upright instead of leaning at 45 degrees. This allows the Furious 320 to race forward faster. There is nothing to slow it down, no drag whatsoever.

The Walkera Furious 320 Body

The Furious 320 is made from one of the toughest materials that you are going to get, carbon fibre. Some parts of the drone are made from plastic. The drone is capable of withstanding some really hard knocks and falls. Yes, as an FPV racing drone, you would expect Furious 320 to be very strongly built and capable of withstanding crashes. So you will not be disappointed at all. This drone is also a bit heavier than other FPV drones because of its heavy 4S 2600mah battery.

Controller

The Furious 320 works perfectly well with the Devo 7 and 10 radio controller – these are a couple of Walkera transmitter that also works with Walkera Runner 250. They may be old, but are pretty powerful. The device operates in a frequency of 2.4 Ghz and uses an ARM micro computer system.

LED Lights for Night Flying

The Furious 320 consists of energy efficient LED lights which are used to warn other drone pilots about a change in direction. These lights help the pilot avoid collisions with other drone, especially when flying in dim light. They make night flying a reality.

 GPS

The Furious 320 is armed with a highly sophisticated GPS technology that records the return point and tells you just how much flight time is left based on the distance and height reached by it. When the battery is low, the device points towards the home base and prompts the pilot to bring it home. This way you will never run out of flight time in the middle of the flight.

Camera

The Walkera Furious 320 is armed with a most sophisticated camera that shoots pictures at 12 MP and takes high quality videos of 1080 pixels. The Furious 320 is capable of recording flight footage at the same time as it transmits live video at 60 frames per second. This makes it so different from the other FPV drones in the market, as you will know very well if you have experience of FPV drone racing.

I never quite liked the idea of attaching an extra camera to some of these other FPV drones to record the flight as the inbuilt cameras that they came with didn’t have dual functionality. I am very impressed with the Walkera Furious 320 camera and I have every reason to believe that it is one of the best that I’ve seen on an FPV drone.

Final Thoughts

I hope you enjoyed this Walkera Furious 320 review. The Furious 320 is a high performance quadcopter and one of the best FPV racing drones around and it is not cheap. It costs $705.99. However, it gives you an amazing speed of 120 km per hour, and has an excellent camera with dual functionality. The tilt motors give it excellent stability in the air as well. For these reasons, I am pretty impressed with this quadcopter.

Thanks for your info. Was told about the Walkera Furious but wasn’t told it was a racer. I’ve also been looking at the Hubsan x4 501s. This one has a very long wireless range and a good price.

    Do you have any opinions?

What would be the best entry level of a Drone and not have to pay high dollar. I am into RC Trucks and let me say I have put in close to a thousand dollars on upgrades all because I love the Hobby.

Hi Garland, an interesting question no doubt.

In order to choose a drone, there are many factors to take into account, such as, what I want to do with it, whether it is to take pictures, make videos, races, deliveries, or just for fun.
Then there is also a very important factor, which is the price, the time of flight etc …

At the moment, I would advise maybe this one, which has a great price / quality ratio and is very easy to fly.

      I hope it helped you.

      Thanks for your comment.

Woah that is a super cool drone! I like it. The turn around and come home function is pretty cool, you’ve got no excuse for losing it in that case!

I’d like to get a drone just for playing, maybe just to see the world from another point of view! I’m going to look around your site and see what catches my eye.

Wow. I bookmarked you website. I have an interest in aerial video for my outdoors site. Thanks for the review. Even if I’m not into racing drones, the top speed for the price is outstanding.

Glad I read this review first. Sounds great, but still not the drone I’m looking for. The Walkera Furious sounds more of a racer than anything. It would be fun, but I want something with the longest range and long battery life. Preferably around 30 minutes of flight. Obviously with a cam but I’m thinking with a built-in remote display.
