Vajra80 HD FPV Review – Speedwolf

Before I get started with the Vajra80 HD FPV review, here’s a little background behind the quadcopter, as I am sure not many of you have heard of it. I was, in fact, surprised to see that there wasn’t a single Vajra80 HD FPV review online before this – surprised because the Vajra80 HD FPV drone I tried was of a very high quality, so I would imagine more people would have been interested in it. I expect the product to be covered more extensively on the internet as it gets discovered by more people. But I am getting ahead of myself, let’s get started with a quick background on the Vajra80 HD FPV drone.

As a drone enthusiast and long-time hobbyist, I am always willing to try out new quadcopters made by promising new companies. Many of the best consumer drones are made by Chinese companies. DJI, which is one of the top makers of consumer drones, is of course a Chinese company. There is one new Chinese drone maker I was curious about – Speedwolf.

Who are Speedwolf?

Shenzhen Speedwolf Technology Co., Ltd. is a Chinese company that makes a variety of high tech products, such as two wheel smart self-balancing scooters or “Hoverboards”, HD sports cameras, FPV Goggles, and drones. The company is a top performer in the Chinese tech industry and has a turnover of over $5 million a year. Not bad at all! Here, though, our focus is on consumer drones and we discuss Speedwolf’s Vajra80 HD FPV drone.

Good information about the Vajra80 HD drone. Is there a scaled down version for personal use? Or is this just designed for institutional use?

I have noticed that some drones have a guard-rail around the props. Does that effect the performance of the drone? And, would you recommend for personal use, that the props have a guard in place around the propeller?

    Thanks for the info.

Hi Billy, I´m glad that you enjoyed my Vajra80 HD FPV Review.

Remember that the Vajra80 HD FPV drone was not specifically created for institutional use, you may use it for your personal use if you want.

If you are looking for a scaled down version you may opt for the Vajra80 GPS (without camera) or the Vajra80 HD (with 1080P Camera).

The use of the propellers guards is mainly used indoors, and does not affect the performance of the drone. Only causes a slight increase of weight and a slight reduction of the battery life.

You can use the propellers guards if you want to, especially if you are flying it indoors, it will keep it safe from damaging the props, and hurting somebody.

      Hope that helped you

      I really appreciate your comment.

As for customer support, Speedwolf may not be brilliant, but fortunately I’ve never had problems with them.

That is one expensive drone to play with. I am just looking for a cheap one just to have fun with. I would love to take aerial pictures or a group selfie.

    Do you have any recommendations?

I bought this drone but had some issues because there was no manual included in the packaging. I found one of the motors was not functioning so I called the manufacture but they spoke very little English. They asked me to email them what the problem was so I did. They asked for a video so I sent them a video. It was difficult emailing back and forth and the problem was still not resolved. I sent the drone back but they said they did not receive it, so I couldn’t get my refund. Like any product support is very important as well as integrity. My experience was very bad, defective motor with terrible support service and I lost my money. I still wanted a drone for my Kenya trip. I did more study and got the phantom 3 and it was very easy to use, especially for beginner hobbyists. Got some great videos during the safari.

Hi David, first of all, let me thank you for sharing your problem with us. Tell me David, when you sent back your drone, did you send it with a Tracking number (Registered Airmail)? With this tracking number you can see if the drone was delivered or not to the manufacturer.

Where did you buy it? From,, Speedwolf or another online store? How did you paid it? By credit card, Paypal, or another payment processor? If you paid it with Paypal you have 180 days after the purchase to open a dispute, to get your refund or exchange. But they will ask you for proofs, like the Tracking number for example.

You are right, when you say that they don´t speak very well english, but fortunately, I have never had a problem with them.

See if you have anything in your possession to reclaim your money.

About the Phantom 3 you bought for your Kenia trip, I believe that you must have great pictures and videos, because it´s a worderful brand.

I really appreciate your comment, and let me know if you managed to have your money back.

  5. Sunil

    Hi Emanuel
    Great review/.
I Purchased The VAJRA80 but I am battling with the calibration and software download for the calibration. Any tips

  6. Sunil

    Awesome, Thanks Emanuel

    The calibration worked well.
Do you know how to use/activate the auto take off function?
compass model without the camera. It does not come with the monitor. Do I need the monitor to use the auto take off?

    1. Emanuel Post author

Hi Sunil, I’m glad to know that you solved your calibration issue.

You do not need the monitor for auto take off. You will only need the auto land feature.

For take off you can do it directly from your controller.

      Hope it helped you.

      Thanks for your comment.
